A civic superhero I look up to?
Representative John Lewis
The Greater Good Initiative, an organization I co-founded alongside my friend Adam Ashley, is a youth-led policy think-tank with the mission of promoting youth engagement and mobilization in the policymaking process. Our goal is to autonomously create effective, sustainable, and nonpartisan policy proposals and advocate them to legislators at the local, state, and federal levels. Our team is crafting these proposals and connecting with legislators and community organizations to garner support from both sides of the aisle. We believe that it is of vital importance to shine a light on the innovative fresh new thinking that comes out of young minds. By equipping young people with professional policy writing and advocacy skills, The Greater Good Initiative is bringing new voices to the world of politics.

This stipend will allow us to channel the funds into expanding our organization’s national reach to students across the country through digital marketing, website development, and search engine optimization.
Why I am excited to join Civics 2030
I am excited to join the Civics 2030 community because it offers leadership development resources and an incredible network that all culminate in the building of a democracy where all voices are heard, respected, and empowered.
My vision for the future of American democracy
I envision an American democracy where empathy is the governing ideal, opportunities are awarded on the basis of equity, and all voices are not just heard, but amplified.
The kind of superhero I am striving to become
I strive to become a civic superhero by serving as an elected official; sustainable change occurs when bottom-up grassroots advocacy meets top-down policy change and I hope to work at that intersection.
