A civic superhero I look up to?
State of the Students is all about connecting students with their government and empowering them to engage in the civic process. We are a nonpartisan student-led organization that serves to bridge the gap between elected officials and their constituents, as well as to provide students with the tools they need to contact government. We run “Get to Know Your Government” town halls where we moderate discussions between students and government officials. Additionally, we run a video series called “Pizza and Politics” where we interview elected officials about the role of government in students’ lives. We believe that by giving students the right information and civic education, they will have the power to make the change they want to see in their communities, and start an effective dialogue with their elected officials.

My vision for the future of American democracy
My vision for the future of American democracy is one where special interests don’t hold any power, where government truly represents the will of the people, and where the government is transparent, truthful, and honest.
